[personal profile] boundbooks posting in [community profile] ao3some
I've already submitted a request for help to Support, but I figured that I'd ask in case anyone has any tips immediately!

My exchange's sign-ups open today, but no one can sign-up.

The problem is that "I don't know if it is just me but I'm logged into my AO3 account and the sign up option isn't appearing in the top right or in the bar on the left. I just have the button for a sign up summery which it can't load as 5 people haven't signed up." and I've confirmed it on my non-collection maintainer AO3 account.

I'm waiting to hear from Support, but I have no idea what's going on. Here's my collection's profile page.

Any idea what might have gone wrong?

edit - I tried setting the collection to 'open' and the problem seems to be persisting. :(

Setting the collection to 'open' brings up the 'post to collection' button, but not the 'sign-up' button. :(

edit #2 - FIXED! The collection *cannot be moderated* in order for the 'Sign-up' button and 'Sign-up Form' links to appear. This does appear to be a bug/unintended design issue, so I'm sending in a report to Support tonight. :)

Random person here, but: Are you trying to sign up maintainers or contributors? Because you've marked the collection "closed", which will only allow signups by maintainers ....

I followed your link and there was a "join" button at the top right, which I selected. I can click on the "Open" status, and that seems to take me to a signup page ... I think ....

ETA: And then if I "Leave" the exchange after having clicked through the "Open", now I see an explicit Sign Up link. Not sure if you fixed a setting or if a certain page-view sequence is needed.

Excellent news! And I just created my first collection earlier today; I'm going to follow that same advice. So thank you!

You'll want to uncheck the ticky box for 'This collection is closed.'

Also, me and my co-mod ran into this issue with our gift exchange. You'll also want to uncheck the box for 'This collection is moderated' if you want fics posted to your collection to remain anonymous and unrevealed.

You're welcome! Glad I could help out. That teeny little moderated button has more power than anyone imagined. *laughs*

I submitted a support request (er, or maybe suggestions, by mistake), but thanks so much for adding our hiccup!

The issue that we ran into was #2. So if the collection was set to moderated, the fics would be posted to AO3 but they were not anonymous or unrevealed (per the collection settings). So one of the fics for our gift exchange was open to the public (and even received comments) before we realized the problem.
