I haven’t tried it yet, sorry! (I have thousands of pages of history so I need to work myself up to it, unfortunately.)

I suspect, though, that it might mean that if you save your history in advance, you’ll be able to figure out which bookmarked works were deleted. I’m not 100% sure though, sorry!
